David’s career in retail began while working for a 14-store menswear chain. An entrepreneur at heart, David learned the interworking of the business and decided to open a shop of his own. In the [season] of 1974, an opportunity presented itself in the form of a small open space in the Willow Creek Barber Shop, in Dallas Texas, and David jumped at the chance. Together he and his wife remodeled the shop, adding ceiling tiles, rough cedar paneling and mirrors to finish it out with the look and feel of a luxury menswear store. After [# of years] successful years at the Willow Creek location, David decided to make the next big move and open shop at the historical Highland Park Village, Highland Park, Texas, where the store remains today. David attributes the last 35-plus years of success to his loyal following: “We have been so fortunate to have a wonderful customer base, who have continued to follow us through each move and transition, referring us to friends and family to help us grow”. The endeavor that began over 35 years ago continues to keep David on his toes, “It is not easy, by any means, but it is still fun!”
